Back to New Zealand

So, I just got back in to NZ after a pretty empty flight from San Fran. I had an empty row, so plenty of room to lie back and catch some sleep.

I was in a bit of a rush when I first got in to Auckland. I needed to get some negatives scanned before a cut off, so I was rushing around Auckland like a bat out of hell, and my cameras both needed some surgery so I dropped them off to Canon to get repairs done. Now I’m back in Hawkes Bay and catching up on some computer work seeing as I don’t have my cameras.

I’m doing some updates on some of the galleries on the website. I can’t put a lot of new stuff up as its tied up in editoral and advertising but I have put a few new bits and pieces up. I would be grateful for any feed back, good or bad, as it all helps.

Also I just got a few mags in the mail. Here is a peek at some of my latest work.

I got the the cover shot of Nick G on the latest Transfer mag. I’m stoked the way it turned  out. Check out the preview on the website, then get down to the local store and pick one up.  It’s a good read.

I shot for an interview on Mikey Williams, and also did a story about the club fields in New Zealand.

Here is some of the advertising work I have done for Ride , Gstar and K2. Check out their new gears through the links.

Also New Zealand Snowboarder just hit the shelf. It is definately worth a read. They have also done up their website and are launching an on-line full version of the magazine on the 20th (in a week).  It should be pretty cool. It seems now with the digital era magazines are having to resort more and more to on-line content. So go pick up a copy if you have some spare change - it is nice feeling some paper between your hands now and again.

I cover a story about riding the big volcano up north as well as a big jump session at the Remarkables, Stef Z and much more.

We prepared this Made You Look ad in about 20 mins on the way to a sledding zone in Tahoe, then did the edit and graphics that arvo on the way home from sledding.  It seems the deadlines are getting tighter and tighter these days and you have to get things done in between to make it happen.

This movie is going to be a good one. It’s a two year project (never done before) and it will be the best snowboard video that has come out of this side of the world. Make sure you don’t miss the premier showings. There will be showings around NZ and Australia in the next month or so. I will post dates when they come through.

Stef Z has been killing it this year – two interviews and good comp results.  Nice work Steff.
